Striped Bass Declines Merit Our Attention

The American Saltwater Guides Association works to promote sustainable business through marine conservation. With the striped bass population at a 25-year low, ASGA is urging recreational anglers to get involved with the future of striped bas management, to educate themselves on the issues, and make their priorities heard to the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission. Go to ASGA’s Guide to the Striped Bass Amendment 7 Public Information Document.

ASGA is also headlining the striped bass in the Fly Fishing Film Tour with HARDLINED, a film by KGB Productions. The film explores the nuances of the striper’s complex conservation story while showing why these fish are so special to so many people.

“You will hear from professional guides, shop owners and recreational anglers a like as you witness some of the most iconic locations in New England. There are epic blitzes under the Montauk lighthouse, stripers belly crawling on the flats of Maine, bass crashing through the rips of Martha’s Vineyard and so much more in this spotlight of what it means to be a Striped Bass angler in the Northeast today.”
