Our Blue Ribbon Report on Marine Fisheries

TO IMPROVE OUR MARINE FISHERIES FOR BOTH THE FISH AND THE ANGLER… AFFTA and the AFFTA Fisheries Fund convened a Blue Ribbon Panel of scientists and managers to identify the primary threats to the sustainability of our marine fisheries and identify a set of solutions that – if implemented – will strengthen marine fisheries conservation and management and help lead to more abundant recreational fisheries. The resulting recommendations are captured in our report, “Recommendations to Improve the Health and Sustainability of America’s Marine Fisheries.”

We recognize this solution set is not exhaustive. AFFTA and AFF believe, however, the solutions identified in this report represent a comprehensive and systematic approach that will lead to more abundant marine fisheries in all U.S. ocean waters, which include U.S. territorial waters in the Caribbean, Hawaii and in the far Western Pacific.

We urge the fly fishing industry to work together in pursuit of these solutions, and remains committed to providing industry leadership on these fronts.

You are invited to download these images of marine/anadromous species to accompany communications about the report. Our thanks to John McMurray (Bluefish on a fly); Greg Moon (Red Snapper on a fly) and Bryan Gregson (Sockeye salmon release & Yellowfin tuna on a fly).
